40+ Hemp Licences issues this year in New Zealand

Post  high_tide on Wed Nov 14, 2012 2:37 am

The Ministry of Health has seen a sharp increase in the number of applications for the cultivation of Industrial hemp this year.

At least 40 crops have been approved with some as big as 100 acres in size.

In the past few years Official Information Request have shown that less than five application were made most years in recent times.

This indicates a rapid increase in activity in the New Zealand hemp industry this year.

Crops must be low in THC. Food products made from the hemp seeds are set to be legalised in the next 60 days in Australasia.
